Wine grows out of both tradition and the present, out of knowledge, love and passion. In very few places is this as evident as it is in Uruguay.
Uruguay is a fascinating – yet very small – wine country with a profile of its own, thanks to the Atlantic and the Río de la Plata, maritime influence, which infuse such natural balance and freshness in the wines.
Tannat is the star, a robust grape which only here gives such voluptuous and velvety reds; reminiscent of northern Italy but with a New World intensity of fruit and expression. There is a lot more to discover in the array of other red varieties used; the wonderfully fresh, lively white wines, and stunning dessert wines.
