Malbec and beyond

There is no doubt – Malbec is what Argentina does best.

The fascinating thing is how the country has managed to give the grape a sense of place. There are significant differences between Malbec wines coming from the different regions of Mendoza, and even more so if we travel north to Salta or south to Patagonia.

Add to this the winemaking decisions in the vineyard and the cellar, and we end up with an outstanding range of styles. There is no other country in the world achieving this kind of diversity with just one grape variety.

Beyond this – huge – core of Malbec and Malbec blends, there are some great whites, and many other very fine red wines to explore.
