Florencia De Maio, although a young winemaker, leads the family winery founded by her grand father.
As many of Uruguayan wineries, a family of Southern Italian immigrants planted the 17 hectares of vineyard in the traditional region of Canelones. For several decades they sold the grapes and made table wine, but in 2012 Florencia talked his father into letting her starting her own winery.
She is keen in reflecting their love for art in their labels
